Immerse yourself in the world's oldest living culture with our Aboriginal Heritage Tour in the heart of Sydney. Led by experienced Indigenous guides, this 90-minute walking tour through the Royal Botanic Garden offers a unique opportunity to connect with the rich cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations people. The tour begins with a traditional Welcome to Country, acknowledging the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which the gardens now stand. Your Aboriginal guide will then take you on a journey through time, sharing knowledge that has been passed down through countless generations. As you walk through this significant site, you'll discover how the local Aboriginal people lived in this area for thousands of years before European settlement. Learn about traditional plant uses for food, medicine, tools, and ceremonies, with hands-on demonstrations of how these resources were harvested and prepared. Your guide will identify native plants and explain their seasonal importance in Aboriginal culture, demonstrating traditional techniques and sharing Dreamtime stories that connect the land, plants, and animals in Aboriginal spirituality. You'll gain insights into sustainable living practices that have been maintained for over 65,000 years. This tour offers more than just historical information – it provides a deeper understanding of Aboriginal perspectives, cultural practices, and the continuing connection to Country that remains strong today. The experience combines breathtaking harbor views with profound cultural insights, making it both educational and spiritually enriching. With your Sydney Super Pass, this authentic cultural experience is completely included (normally priced at $42), offering a rare opportunity to learn directly from Aboriginal knowledge holders in a beautiful natural setting.

This tour was the highlight of our Sydney visit. Our guide, Uncle Terry, shared incredible knowledge about traditional plant uses and Aboriginal culture. The stories and demonstrations made the experience so authentic and meaningful. I learned more in 90 minutes than I could have from any book. The harbor views were an added bonus. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to understand Australia's First Nations heritage.

An eye-opening and respectful introduction to Aboriginal culture. Our guide was passionate about sharing her knowledge and answered all our questions thoughtfully. The hands-on demonstrations of traditional techniques were fascinating, and the Dreamtime stories gave us a new perspective on the landscape. The tour was well-paced with plenty of shade stops. Using our Super Pass for this experience was excellent value.

Very educational tour that our whole family enjoyed. Our teenage children were engaged throughout, especially during the bush food tasting and tool-making demonstrations. Our guide balanced historical information with contemporary Aboriginal perspectives. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the group was quite large (about 15 people), making it occasionally difficult to hear everything. Morning tours seem less crowded.
