The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is one of Sydney's most scenic and popular walking trails, stretching approximately 6 kilometers along the stunning coastline of Sydney's eastern suburbs. This picturesque walk takes you along clifftops, beaches, parks, and rock pools, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean throughout. Starting at the iconic Bondi Beach, the walk winds its way south past Tamarama Beach, Bronte Beach, Clovelly, and finally to Coogee Beach. Along the way, you'll encounter the historic Waverley Cemetery perched dramatically on the clifftops, natural rock pools perfect for a refreshing dip, and plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can stop for refreshments. The walk typically takes 2-3 hours at a leisurely pace, allowing time to enjoy the views, take photos, and perhaps stop for a swim at one of the beaches. The path is well-maintained and mostly paved, making it accessible for most fitness levels, though there are some stairs and inclines along the route. With your Sydney Super Pass, you can enjoy a complimentary guided tour of the walk (normally priced at $35), where a knowledgeable local guide will share insights about the history, geology, and marine life of the area. The guided tour includes interesting stories and facts you might miss on a self-guided walk, as well as recommendations for the best photo spots and swimming locations. Whether you choose the guided tour or prefer to explore at your own pace, the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk offers some of Sydney's most spectacular coastal scenery and is a must-do experience for visitors and locals alike.
Start: Notts Avenue, Bondi Beach NSW 2026
The walk starts at the southern end of Bondi Beach near the Bondi Icebergs Club and ends at Coogee Beach.

Absolutely stunning coastal walk! We took the guided tour with our Super Pass and learned so much about the area's history and geology. Our guide pointed out things we would have missed on our own. The views are breathtaking and there are plenty of spots to stop for a coffee or swim. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water - some sections have stairs and inclines.

Beautiful walk with amazing ocean views. We did the self-guided version but saw the guided tours and they seemed to be getting lots of interesting information. The path is well-marked and easy to follow. It took us about 3 hours with stops for photos and a quick swim at Bronte. Definitely one of the highlights of our Sydney trip!

Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid crowds and the midday heat. Sunrise and sunset offer spectacular views and photo opportunities.
Bring your swimwear as there are several beaches and rock pools along the way perfect for a refreshing dip, including Bondi Icebergs, Bronte Baths, and Wylie's Baths.
The cliffs between Tamarama and Bronte offer some of the best photo opportunities. The Bondi Icebergs pool against the ocean backdrop is also a classic Sydney shot.
